Is there a method to do full backup of your samsung phone like in an itunes (i mean with all app content and files) and then retire that on a new phone. Similar to a the wired transfer but through a backup file via usb etc.
Context: old phones are lost or sold but then you may not have a new phone yet to do a wired transfer. And Google backup is basically multiple backups through photos, drive etc and not a single backup file.

I always set up my phone as new ..
So although I have apps and settings for backup I never restore them.
Rest I restore.
So I don't worry if I have to reset my phone or change.to a new one. All my stuff is there the minute I sign in

The problem being ignored by all companies is the rising senior citizen group of users. If it's too complicated for the youth and even tech savy person like me imagine the pain they go through.
And the problem is compounded when they have to sell their phone or exchange for a new one and they don't have to backup everything quickly and in simplified way. Setting as new is not desirable for them due to whatsapp, social chats, apps like karaoke etc which they use a lot and they need restored without much effort. Even the setup of account on new phone is stupid asking for verification on older phones when they can make it simple through a sms OTP on self or recovery number. A senior citizen friendly approach is now needed. One of the factual reasons I found that many senior citizens don't upgrade a phone as they fear for this transitional pain. You will find this group to also.habe obsolete OS as they never upgraded/don't know how to and they don't have high end data plans too. And they don't want to take help of their children out of pride.

Hello @ANR1 👋
This is how I always set up my new phone's.
Samsung Cloud that backs up 99% of my phone.
Samsung SmartSwitch to move my Gallery across.
I've not personally had an issue this way with the process being easy to process.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Forget elders. I am the the first point of contact for all around my immediate family if something goes tech *****.
So I do try to educate a bit and mostly upgrade their phones for them.
Actually it's easier for elderly as they don't want too much complicated nonsense.
Just the basics.

Yes. Same for me. I wonder why samsung specially is not thinking of this as a value add. How difficult it is to just link Google drive and switch on full backup
