Does your S23 Ultra 10x Camera has the same problem?

I just got my s23 ultra, and wanted to test the camera , so I went to a overpass at night,  shot the cars on the road, I found there were lots of glowing tails on the top of the headlights of the car and street lights(my lens was clean, and I turned down the ISO), after turning the phone sideways, I found all the tails rotated 90 degrees, I tried to shot the screen of the train station as well, the texts had tails as well, is that normal situation ? If you guys have any idea or thoughts pls feel free to comment, I appreciate that !:)

Did you use the night mode or try playing around with some of the settings. Shooting in the dark is difficult as use can get camera glare off the lights reflecting. Led lights also play havoc because of that. I watch a lot of train videos on YouTube and find some train headlights/marker light flicker even throu they aren't flickering.

Probably it's because of the longer shutter speed and motion of the vehicles in the low light levels.
If you hand hold, you get movement from your hands.
You can always try going into the pro mode and reducing the shutter speed
You will of course have to increase the ISO
Can always then edit the photos with something like lightroom.
Using Expert RAW would give you the best results after editing

Thanks for the reply ! I tried the night mode, also tried the AGC, the those tails are still exist and point to the same direction all the time(point to the left and point upward when hold the phone vertically ), do you have any idea about that?

Thanks a lot! I'll try adjusting the settings and using the expert raw, but I'm sure it's not a motion problem , you can see the picture of the screen , the tails are still exist

There will be chances at certain angles etc that you will get some lens flare. Nothing you can do about that.
Happens to all cameras.
But you learn to get round it to a point

I've the S23U keith30, and like you, I do watch train videos on YouTube. I've not noticed any flickering of the train lights on videos though.

Hi,

Just to confirm have you checked the "details" of each pic? That will tell you a f stop number, should be 4.9 not 2.4. It could be your phone is using a crop of the 3x telephoto lens instead of the 10x sensor. Can force this through "camera assistant" and disabling the auto lens switching option. 1702347569568.jpg
