So I usually charge my phone the whole night and it always reaches 100% and stops. This morning I woke up to my phone being just at 68% percent which was weird, and in the battery settings it showed me that it had been like that for a while. So I unplug it and I wait for it to get to about 4% and then I charged it again. it took so long to charge to 68% when usually it's so fast with the original charger, and then it stopped again. So I was just panicking at that point, and I unplugged it and restarted the phone. Once the phone turned back on, it was suddenly at 100%!! what is going on? can anyone explain? it even shows in the battery settings

Hi keliyaa,

welcome to our community! 😊

Did you notice if this anomaly started to occur after a specific event?

Have you tried to check if, charging the device from power off, you experience the same behavior?

While waiting for more details, I suggest you proceed with a system cache wipe, called Wipe cache partition, following the steps below:

  • Turn off the phone
  • Verify the USB connector is used, such as by connecting it to a PC
  • Press and hold the Power and Volume Up key.
  • When Samsung appears, release only the Power key
  • When the blue screen appears, also release the Volume Up key
  • On the next screen there will be many items: move with the Volume up or down key to select “wipe cache partition”
  • Confirm this choice with the Power key
  • Move to the “Yes” item and confirm again
  • Finally, place on the “reboot system now” item and confirm

I would like to reassure you that this operation will not delete any data, but all those obsolete system cache files that can somehow generate malfunctions will be deleted.

Keep me updated. I remain available.

Have a nice day!

Hello and thanks for your answer. Actually no I don't recall a specific event, and tonight the charging process worked fine. For the wipe cache partition, does it have to be usb-type c or can it be type c-type c cable? because that's the only one I have
