My camera will not focus when the light is low. Ive tried resetting the phone, resetting the camera settings, starting in safe mode and turning off tracking auto focus.

Any other suggestions would be helpful. Its the same issue regardless of zoom so I don't think its one camera specifically. This makes me think more a software issue

Thanks in advance

Simply restart your phone.

In very low light, the camera will use a slower shutter and even the slightest movement will make the image less sharp
More do with a zoom lens
Try using the flash or use the pro mode to increase the ISO and reduce the shutter speed
With any camera, the lower the light levels the lower quality photos
For me in situations like that I will use pro mode or expert RAW
Have you tried the night mode In the camera options?

Do you have something blocking the camera system, like a case or lens cover?

Tap to focus doesn't work. It used to but now it doesn't

I've of course restarted my phone

Hi thanks for the reply. I do understand this but the camera didn't used to do this, it's a new issue that started. I did try  different settings before but didn't have any luck, however, I'll try again tonight in low light and see if it makes a difference!

That being said, I would have thought auto mode should adjust for low light? It definitely used to!

I forgot to mention in the original post sometimes when I aim at something in low light it'll focus for a split second and then unfocus and I won't be able to get it to refocus if that makes sense!

Thanks again

Did you find a solution? I am experiencing the same thing. I'm sure it must be an update related issue as months ago it was ok.

Hi sorry I've only just seen this as it went to my junk! You're the first person I've found experiencing the same thing - it's incredibly frustrating! I've booked my phone in for a repair this week as it's still in warranty so I will let you know what they say about it
