What was the cause last time it happened? Do you have accidental touch protection enabled?

I have the Galaxy S23 Ultra and my phone just started doing this yesterday. Camera has opened on its own probably 7 or 8 times now.

Hi, the same thing started happening to me this morning. It keeps opening up and taking first load photos. I've already restarted the phone a couple of times and took off the case, and it's still happening.

I got exactly same issue. It just started day after last security patch. Shutting down and powering up phone didn't help, it even happened while I was poking settings to disable camera. I also noticed that pen icon is shown on screen, even it was inside phone and locked properly. There was also occasional short vibration, like notification, but randomly. It stopped by itself after 2-3 hours and next day I open camera app to take a picture but shutter sound was changed somehow. When I try to change it, option from menu was missing (shutter sound). After reset data and cache on camera app and reset camera app settings, everything was back in order.

During the last two days I'm having also this issue in my S23 Ultra, with camera opening out of the blue, taking pictures and draining my battery. However i see that my friend with S23 (Not ultra) is not having it.
Seeing that when the issue pops up also the S Pen icon appears, I'm thinking it can be caused by some random activation of the SPen button, that if pressed randomly can trigger the camera opening and pictures.
I tried cleaning cache and data, as suggested by another user, but it does not solve it for me. The thing that seems to be working (at least for the last hours) is:
Take out the SPen, open the SPen settings and DEACTIVATE the AIR ACTION.
Ofcourse this is not ideal since it takes out the SPen remote functions, but it seems to be a working solution to avoid battery drainage.
Hope Samsung solves this ASAP! I hope this is useful to others.
