Clock app is missing after factory reset

After doing a factory reset, the Clock app is now no longer installed on the phone and needs to be installed from either the Galaxy store or Play Store as an user app.

This must be a bug right?

I should add that I used an external smart switch backup to restore apps after doing a factory reset.

I don't know what happened but now the time left is shown. I have the same version number. I only tested this with alarms on the same day so it was within 24 hours. Anyway haha, glad its back.

It was no longer present as an app on the phone. I do not use the widget and have not checked for it. It is the same app used alarms.

I always used the app for alarms for many years and it has always worked for me. That is also why I prefer it to be an default app instead of a user installed app but not the biggest issue (stability/accidentals).

Maybe I should use a samsung account on the phone and make a report even if its only for reporting things like this as this is not the first or second thing happening on my s23, but for now I will use the user app and see if something changes with a new update that includes clock app update. Not sure how that works by the way, when an app that usually is installed as system app is now installed as user app on a samsung phone.

edit: I don't think I could uninstall the Clock app before even if I wanted. That option was not available unless something has changed later on.

Ah yes it always was considered a user app, I see now on a different samsung phone that it shows up as a user app. The difference however is that the pre-installed Clock app cannot be uninstalled but the one I myself have installed can.

No big problem, I will wait and see. Maybe this is just a bug or its the new way. Thanks for your replies.

FYI: https://www.sammyfans.com/2024/03/16/galaxy-exclusive-samsung-clock-app-getting-march-2024-update/
Perhaps this update changed the type of app?

Maybe. One change I noticed is that this app no longer shows how much time is left before the alarm will sound. It used to let me know this in a disappearing message after enabling the alarm. Not sure why it's gone, I personally liked that feature.
