Hello,

I have recently bought a refurbished phone off backmarket (I have proof that I have), but when setting up I added a pin that I have since forgotten. All I did to the phone was add the pin since I was setting up the phone for my grandmother but this means the only way I can access the phone is through reseting the password.

Is there any way I can get it reset?

This will wipe all data from the phone

Power off the phone.

Hold volume up and the power button till the samsung logo appears, release the buttons.

Using the power buttons, select reset device/wipe (not sure of the exact wording). Press the power button to select. Press yes a few times. You have now fully reset your phone. If it doesn't reboot itself, reboot it. Phone is now blank and ready to be setup again with a new code.

Of note, doing this triggers factory reset protection. You will need to login to the google account that was previously linked to the phone. If you cannot do this, the phone is bricked

I cannot do this as no google account was ever connected to the device and it doesn't let me power the device off without the pin

Ah, if no google account was ever linked then factory reset protection won't enable. Nothing to worry about there

To force shut down the phone, hold the power button and volume down for 7 seconds or till it turns off. This kinda pulls the power instead of doing a normal shut down.

Then boot it into recovery mode by I think holding power and volume up, release when the logo appears. Then reset the device

I turned it off but as soon as I did, the power just turned back on. No matter how many times I tried to turn it off it would just turn back on. Whenever I tried to boot into recovery it didn't work. Do you know why?

Look up how to force shut down your phone. Then how to put it in recovery mode. My only thought is you're pressing the buttons wrong because I've not explained it properly
