I have tried to sync my Samsung calendar with my outlook, hotmail & gmail and it will not budge
I can't believe it's that static that it has no flexibility
I have read all the blogs and tried all the suggestions but it still won't sync
Do I literally have to go into every single entry and change the calendar manually?

Once an event is on a certain account it stays on that account across devices. it doesn't sync across accounts but rather across devices if the desired account is logged in on those devices.
Assuming you are using Samsung account calendar, lets check if this is activated on your phone
on your phone go to: Settings > accounts and backups > manage accounts > select Samsung account > sync settings > calendar > Turn on Auto sync.
if its off, then turn it on and make sure you pick the allowed connection (wifi or mobile or both) then hit sync now.
