Step Count Is Not Working Properly on S22 Ultra

I recently turned on the step count feature in Samsung Health on my S22 Ultra but it hasn’t been very accurate. Most days I ride my motorbike about 8 miles to work, and even though I’m not walking the app still adds 700 to 800 extra steps. It feels like the motion from the ride is being read as walking. Is there any way to fix this or make the tracking more precise? I checked the settings but couldn’t find much. Any tips would be great! I’ve been using it to track movement around the shop while setting up a pneumatic chuck, so I’d like the data to be as accurate as possible.

Probably best bet is to get a watch.
A phone in the pocket can't really determine too accurately
But something like a watch can help with accuracy as it will have something else to work with

What would you recommend? I was thinking about getting the Galaxy Fit.

Galaxy Fit should be good. Heard good things about it and should be reasonably lightweight enough for comfort.
Best to look at reviews online as I haven't used a Fit watch.
Best to get the latest one to make sure you get some years of use with software updates

My husband cycles to work, he uses Samsung Health to log it as a cycle but it always adds steps despite not walking it! We've not figured out a way to correct it.
