Scared to update software

I updated my phone as I usually do at the beginning of September and since then it started to reboot itself randomly. My phone is is a Samsung S22 Ultra and it's in perfect condition. It was working fine until the update. I took it to a repair shop and they couldn't see any issues with it and did a minor repair on the buttons. Since then it's been ok but still doing it. 

I've had a notification about updating the software again and I'm hopeful it will fix this problem but I'm also worried it will kill my phone. 

I really can't afford a new phone at the moment. Any advice would be good. Thank you.

I updated way back when I had a Samsung S10+ I couldn't use the 3×4 keyboard after that as predictive text would put in words that didn't fit the sentence, if you typed piggy it would show the word schizophrenic, the phone was sent for repair several times, once came back set up in French, supposedly fixed but still had the same issue, I've upgraded to every Samsung ultra to the S 25 ultra and still cant use the 3×4 keyboard

I've just done last update mine also starts to shut and re starts. Also seems a lot slower working, especially with Google?

Phone is how old? It can be anything that can tip it over as the years of every day use pass by. Make sure you have regular backups

The September software update has had the same impact on my S22 Ultra - it reboots constantly and the issue seems to come from the WIFI. I'm livid that this has rendered a perfectly good phone useless.

A security update shouldn't "tip over" a phone. This is negligence by Samsung
