Can anybody recommend and alternative to Samsung gallery? One that it is possible to organise photos into albums and not have them all displayed on the camera folder. Thanks.

PS. I know that photos can be displayed in albums. I want to actually 'move' the photo into albums.

Even from Gallery it is possible to move photos into new Albums, outside of the folder Camera folder. All new folders are created in Internal Storage/DCIM folder.

From My Files app, you can move the newly created folders to any other location outside of DCIM folder.

Hi Nufei, thanks, had a look at Google photos and straightaway I like it because it displays photos much more intuitively. But it seems to be showing some albums but not all - in fact only a couple. I have at least twenty+

When I click on ‘albums’ it takes me to a random selection of photos, but does not display any of my actual albums? It’s probably just a question of getting used to it.

Do you think I need to get rid of current albums in Samsung Gallery? Or maybe just delete the app?

Thanks, when I 'move' a photo to an album it doesn't actually move it from the camera folder. It seems to copy it and it remains in the camera folder. If I try to delete the original from the camera folder it also deletes the image in the album. So I have thousands of photos in the camera folder and it makes it impossible to find anything.

The photos when listed are also very small and there seems to be no way to enlarge the photo icon.

Camera folder is the catch all folder, "view all"
That's normal in Gallery and Google photos

After selecting the photos in the Camera folder, you should select Move to album rather than Copy to album option.

Copy to album option will retain the original photo in Camera album and create a duplicate in the folder where the photo was copied to.

On my device, moving and copying result in exactly the same thing. The original is retained and the album seems to be a linked copy - delete one you delete the other. Robot say the camera folder and is a 'catch all' folder, which seems to make sense, although not what I want. I want to be able to sort some photos into albums and leave others, less specific images, in the main folder.

Then something is wrong. Copy and Move are supposed to behave differently.

I suggest moving them inside of the My Files app, if Move in Gallery doesn't work
