Hi all, I got the phone last week, since then I couldn't have a decent conversation with it, signal drops all the time but I have full bars, Internet drops in the same time, I cannot listen to a full song on YT, if I'm on Bluetooth with the headsets, Bluetooth connection drops too, basically I have all the problems that are being reported all over Internet with this phone. Airplane mode/restart fix it for a while then it happens again. The rest of the phone is really realty great, I still vahe time till the end of the month to switch to a different phone but I really hope I'll keep this one. Is there any news that this will be fixed by an update or the phone is just rubbish and there's no hope? Cheers

P.S. even now when I tried to post this I lost the connection

Same here.

Internet freezes for half a minute very very often (few times in one hour). While connection is perfect (signal is strong and 4G+ bandwidth at least 80+Mbps) and others with the same plan have no problems.

Will wait till Android 13, will do a reset. If that won't help - report to warranty.

I assume you're using an exynos variant of the S22U and if that's the case my carrier in Sweden recently told me they were informed by Samsung it was a known issue with the whole S22-series and the next upcoming update would fix this - not really trust this until seen. They also made some references to the recently released Pixel 7 which have (almost) the same modem as the S22 (Shannon 5133/5300a) and apparently almost the same type of issues... Not good PR for the Shannon modem if true.

Yes. Exynos in my case.

Carrier - Telia Lithuania. But I've seen people with S22 Ultra complaining here in other networks as well (eg Tele2). So it's Samsung (or their modem).. not a carrier.

Let's hope it's fixed with the update or Android 13 / OneUI 5. Otherwise- I'll try to fix it with warranty :winking-face:

Ok, I tried to get this confirmed by the Samsung support a few days ago but they didn't know anything about it. Go figure...

I have a few places where the outages happens often to verify at when/if there's an update. Also, I recently got my SIM replaced as well but I have yet to see any change from that.

Well, my short time with Samsung has come to an end. So sad as I love the phone but the problems make it unusable. O2 have agreed there is a problem, so are swapping it over for a Pixel 7 Pro in the morning.

I got my s22 ultra about 2 weeks ago and I have exactly the same issues:

-"signal drops all the time but I have full bars, Internet drops in the same time, I cannot listen to a full song on YT, if I'm on Bluetooth with the headsets, Bluetooth connection drops too"

- "when 4g drops and I'm on Bluetooth listening to music, I switch to airplane mode and back to restore the connection, I start playing again but I have no sound in my ear buds, even though the Bluetooth still shows paired. So I need to restart the Bluetooth too to get sound again"

I also have 2 sims, and still have my old Motorola edge and I tried to switch the sims and the issue is definitely is with the s22 because the same sim in the old phone works perfectly and in s22 with both sims the same issue. I also tried to do a factory reset and this doesn't help.

That's very sad, because I really like this phone, the camera and the sound are perfect but those network issues makes me feel like I'm back in 90's and I'm watching YouTube videos with dial-up connection.

This is so annoying, since the Samsung support appears to be in denial of this quite wide spread issue (or just very silent) I would suggest everyone with the same symptoms to use the Samsung members app to report the issue with attached logs every time it happens. I've tried a few times and never got this confirmed unfortunately. The last response indicated that they were out of suggestions...for now at least.

I purchased this phone last April 2022 and still under warranty.

The network dropped totally every few times. This is happening a lot during the last week. I can see no network sign many times during the day. I checked with another friend having a Samsung phone (even older than my S22 Ultra Model) with the same network (T-Mobile) in the same location. The older phone was having full network bars while mine have no network at all.

I contacted (T-Mobile) and reported the network is dropping frequently. They did their check and everything was fine on their end. I decided to replace the SIM card and still, the same issue is happening. T-Mobile said that my phone may be having an antenna issue.

I tried 2 different new S22U's. The first one did the same. I returned it within 2 weeks. I decided to try again a few months later, thinking they did some updates to fix it, and it had the same problem for a week. I returned it. Had to buy a Note 20U, which works fine on my Tmobile sim, like my S20+ always has, and every Galaxy I have owned since the S1 (I have had every S version since the S1). Can't believe this. They finally get the design  better, but it's main function is flawed. Samsung, make the perfect phone: height of the S10+, width of the note, photos with a higher megapixel with 16:9 use, and network system that work flawlessly like your other galaxies.

I forgot to mention that with good reception when it was actually working, and 5g data, I was thinking the phone was just freezing when clicking links in browsers. No, it was the loss of actual internet connection, while reception and 5G shows good. You click a link and it takes too long to go to the page. The tower reception and data shuts off complete when it shouldn't, sometimes I had 5G but no cell tower calling/texting service at all, which problem I have never had in 25 years in a phone, and sometimes when I had 5G data and good cell tower reception, the internet was still freezing and lagging. Samsung needs to make a functional, thinner, shorter S23U and trade it in to every customer that bought a new S22U. They need to make up for this serious error.
