Totally agree, im so disappointed.... Saved up for this phone really hard. Today i took a video in 4k 60FPS, some parts had "normal" indoor lighting (just some indoor led) but this quality is like on a phone back from 10-20 years ago, its UNACCEPTABLE! Even my old huawei had better photos :'(
RAW would be a good option, but if you dont like to edit the pictures just like me, you goin' to hate it, i mean, it would be good, but its for photos only, full screen and nice large sizes are not available, not even video option, small textures are way brighter than i would need them to be ETC...
And lets not talk about the quality when it comes to the actualy photo, what you see on the screen might be acceptable, and you open up the photo, it works on it for a bit (but NOONE asked for that!) and it RUINS the whole photo. I believe i have turned off everything that should automatically add "nice" effects.
This camera has a potential, i dont know why the software is ruined, would be awesome to use the phones like you just take a pic and the picture should be a raw good quality photo with no blur and stuff, after 2020 that should be a normal thing...
I really hope they fix this, because i would REALLY need the camera...

My letter to Samsung..
I recently purchased a Samsung S22 Ultra, and I’m unable to use the camera due to a persistent “camera failed” error. After multiple attempts to reset the camera and even performing a full wipe of the phone, the issue remains unresolved. I’ve spent considerable time engaging with customer service, only to be advised that the problem lies with Google and that any repair would be at my expense.
I’ve noticed on Samsung’s own forums that I’m not alone; many S22 Ultra users report the same malfunction. This widespread occurrence suggests that the root cause is either software or hardware related, which points back to Samsung’s responsibility. As a loyal customer who has experienced similar issues with the previous S21 Ultra model, I find this situation unacceptable for a flagship device.

There is time for Samsung until the pixel series releases their desktop mode. If there won't be a fix for the cam till then, I will be gone for this brand.
All the stuff about the camera is absolutely unacceptable.

I loved my Ultra 22 but recent updates and now my camera zoom and focus is grainy and blurred. I was just at a recent High School graduation trying to zoom in and the focus was not like it used to be at all. Not even close actually. I have not tried to do anything yet but recent updates I feel has led to this. Out of the blue right after the latest updates I have noticed a difference. I am not sure if Samsung has done this to get people to buy a new phone, I mean theres enough people on the planet to buy the new ones but if they had done this, there could be a class action law suite coming. They may just ***** of the wrong person, lets hope thats not the case!

Not the best camera sw/hw, and focus at 10x+ is totally useless. I have to switch between orientations and do a rain dance to make it focus (in good lightning with good contrasts etc). No Samsung for me again.

Have they ever even winked at this problem from Samsung? I recently bought this S22 Ultra and camera is catastrophic, blurry and low low quality. What should one do in this case? To whom to complain?

We are in the official Samsung forum and I do not think there will be more good contact points for you.
Samsung just dint give a s**t about the camera problems. They do not give us any information at all a I do not think they care a bit about our problem.
I think the only option is to sell it and get a different brand. That's at least what I am telling everybody who owns a Samsung device.
Never will I ever get a Samsung device again.

I found this forum when looking for ways to fix the blurry grainy photo issue. The camera was good when it first came out, then went to ***** shortly there after.
My first Samsung was the S9+ which I took to Norway and was able to capture Bob Ross level photos of the landscape, Waterfalls, and fjords. Absolutely stunning, flawless photos. Kept that phone for 2.5 years! So when it was time to upgrade I stayed loyal to the brand thinking it could only be better.
The S22 Ultra is such a disappointment and for an increased price tag. There's no sports mode in the pro, so action shots are now impossible. The Pro mode lacks the ability to really zoom in. Regular mode takes better quality photos. But the AI program to clean up 10x zoom makes photos look like oil paintings. They are not sharp at all. And the screen view while capturing the shot us blurry, grainy, and pulsing. It's trash.
So yall are saying the Google Pixel is better? OK. I'll go where ever the quality is. Thank you.
