Just wanted to share my experience of the s22 ultra (and others) boot loop issue which then resulted in my phone bricking last week. I contacted Samsung online chat and requested a call back to complain, but as I bought the phone used, I had no proof of purchase, therefore not eligible for extended warranty.
In desperation I took my handset to my local phone repair shop (UK) who diagnosed for free! In my case at least, the motherboard was not getting hot (which I'm aware is happening to many other users). The chap said it was a faulty battery AND loose battery connector on the motherboard. He replaced the battery (£35) and, for now, has taped the connector in place. He said if it comes loose he will solder a new connector in place (around £75). Apparently the connector terminals are very small and flimsy compared to Apple.
At least for now, phone is working and charging fine. It might be worth checking if you have similar symptoms to mine.

Hi @crashing and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋
Thank you for sharing this interim solution you've used.
Obviously for anyone coming across this thread if this type of work is carried out by a non authorised Samsung engineer this would render any remaining Manufacturer's Warranty invalid.
I appreciate what you have said about the proof of purchase situation.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Just ignore him. I've yet to see any single comment that brings anything constructive from a single one of these 'star' members.
Thanks for posting your findings. Feels odd that it turned out to be a battery issue after all this time. But glad it's solved your issues. My phone has been going into a bootloop more and more often. I'm sadly now just considering a Pixel or Oneplus phone as a replacement.

I had exactly the same issue, I was using the camera when the screen froze and then the phone re-started. I saw the message 'optimising apps' which only happens when the phone updates, so I know update was at play. Then it restarted again and went into a boot loop and kept on restarting.
I spent an hour with Samsung discussing options, but they are too stubborn to acknowledge how wide the issue is and how many people it has impacted. They said it needs to be inspected first.
Took it to the official repair shop, who were awful. Basically they said, it needs a new motherboard (quoted £400!). I asked if they have 'diagnosed' the issue, turns out, the technician logic was, since the phone can't be turned on, it must be the motherboard 😕 I said even if I was ready to pay that ridiculous money (which I wouldn't), how would you know if it is motherboard, have you diagnosed it? They said no, they can't run diagnostics because the phone can't be turned on. Well, that IS the problem that it is not booting ...
I left with no resolution, Samsung apparently have released this new update OneUI 6.1.1 that has impacted many S22 line phones, let's see if they own it. Time to switch to another brand, if this is how Samsung are going to treat us
