Hi all,

I always used the phone for track my runs and my bike tours. I don't need extreme accurate GPS but I want an acceptable track of my runs. Unfortunately I noticed that my new s22 have a bad tracking GPS.

My last phone (OP5) is extremely more accurate.  I done a lot of comparative (same run different smartphone) and it's clear that the s22 doesn't follow correctly my run.  In a run of 10 km the s22 lose 300/400m.

I have some screenshots for the comparative but I don't know how to upload here.

I state that I have already done a clear cache and I installed some GPS fix app from the play store. Nothing is changed.

Has anyone encountered the same problems? tips for solves?

Not to say youre wrong but understand GPS is about line of sight so should you be running on day where there is alots of clouds then you will find inaccurate GPS.

You will also see this when in the trying to get a GPS position when it's raining hard, Uber app gets all sorts of wierds locations

Thanks for the answer.

I've done about 10 rides with the s22. I did most of the rides with good weather. Unfortunately I saw always the same errors in the GPS track.

Errors that never appeared in the other smartphone.

I upload some screenshots to better understand

Hello @-Robot- and @Jacknick  - there is a known problem with S22's location finding (A-GPS). So @-Robot- the clouds and the rain are not an excuse for the bad job Samsung have done with the S22.

There are many issues with the S22 line. I also have  a lot of location problems. I am hopefully waiting for Samsung to release fixes to my device. Meanwhile, I have turned it off and using my iPhone max 13. I liked my S10 5G Note Plus, I gave it to my daughter, I purchased S22 Ultra (512 GB) and I am so disappointed. I suffer from the iOS user interface on my iPhone, but everything that suppose to function on my iPhone, works , as it should, what cannot be said about my S22.

Do you have Exynos CPU ?

I tested the GPS with an app installed in different devices (GPS TEST) In the same condition.

One Plus 5 and Galaxy tab s8 after some minuts can easily see over 50 satellites.

Galaxy s 22 never see over 35 satellites.

@Jacknick looks like a good testing. I will do the same with my iPhone. I must say that I have checked mu S22 Ultra with GPS TEST app, and it captured signals from more than 50 satellites, and still, while car-driving and the navigation with the S22 fails.

Same issue here. Every kilometer galaxy s22 is 150m wrong. Really terrible.

Any solution?

Same issue here. My last 3 phones (Motorola and S8) and my Amazfit watch all tracked my local park run to about 5km, my new S22 tracks it to about 4.6km. It makes a joke of the tracking and I'm having to use my cheap watch to know how far I've actually run. I've never had a phone like this and am extremely disappointed considering how much this cost.
I've tried turning off every battery saving option, several different apps, and always the same issue. Very tempted to sell this on and never buy Samsung again, except no-one else makes a phone small enough!
