I spoke to support but they didnt help me. They onlly told me this: I understand that you have purchased the device in Romania. I would like to note that the One UI beta programme is only available on eligible devices that was manufactured or released here in the UK. In addition, one UI beta programme availability is dependent of the region, and it doesn't mean that One UI beta programme released in the UK will also be available on devices released on other region.
You can use other sim cards in the phone. But EE like others do quite often install network provider optimisation software into thier phones So although not locked in, in the traditional sense. But won't be eligible for the Beta due to network provider installed software
