my internet/service provider's coverage is fine in my area.

tried resetting, turning everything off and on and other steps.

but still cannot access the internet with mobile date.

Spent about a month with tec service from my carrier, changed sim, factory rest. They sent me a new phone under warranty. after setup the hot spot worked fine on Android 12. then the updates started. I paused after each one and checked the hotspot. I worked until the last update to Android 13 the lost the update. this all happened within the first hour of a new S22. Hopefully the next update will correct it!

Yes same here, I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Tried resetting APN and network settings, tried different simcard and cross checking but its the phone that has the issue. Also tried to reset the whole phone to fabric standard but even this didn't solve the problem 😞 Chatted with samsung support who said I need to take it to service or wait until next update that may fix the issue. Never updating again (especially not in the eary phase of a release) Any updates what you've done now?

Figured out the trick for me. Hopefully it does it for you too.

  1. Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Network -> Access Point Names -> Then select the main one (If more than one, it's usually the already selected)
  2. Find the line that says "APN Type" (DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE)
  3. Add ",default,supl"  - See Photo Below
  4.  Tap the 3 dots on the top right corner and "Save". Your data should be restored immediately!

P.S: If you mess up this process, go back to the previous screen (Access Point Names) -> Click the 3 dots on the top right -> "Reset to Default"

Hopefully this helps!!

Just installed 13 on my S20 5G and have no Mobile Data / LTE.  Tried most of the suggested fixes but no joy.

Checked under: Settings / About Phone / Status Information / SIM card status /

Network:  blank

Mobile network state:  "Disconnected"

Is this a clue to what's wrong?

Is your SIM Card active: Can you make and receive calls?

if so, when you go to the "Access Point Names", do you see anything on the list?

Ok I waited for the update to UI5.1 and still no mobile hotspot.  I inserted a sim card from another carrier ant it worked fine. I contacted Consumer Cellular, and they had me add an APN and not select it but kept the default one checked. Restarted the phone and all is good again.

I experienced this issue in Feb 23 after the UI5.1 update. Both mine and my sister's s22 ultra (bought together) was unable to connect to mobile data after the update. Turns out the APN was missing. I would suggest checking and manually readding same if the same issue is noticed. Settings>Connections> Mobile Networks > Access Point Names> Add (you should be able to find this easily online from your mobile network provider)

My S20 5g just updated to Android 13 & I lost mobile data connection also. Spent ALL FREAKING DAY yesterday trying to fix it, STILL no connection, only WIFI works. Cannot make or receive calls now! ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE OF ANDROID/SAMSUNG TO ALLOW THIS TO CONTINUE!!!
