Lock Screen Notifications

After the update, I have lost my notifications on the lock screen, under the clock. I would really like to know when I get a notification with out having to open my phone. Is there a way to change this?

Settings > Notifications > Lockscreen — if not already turned on- turn it on, then change from icons to cards.
