Couldn't avoid one ui 7 update anymore and I'm sad

Just wanted to say I own two galaxy s22 phones. My first i updated to one ui 7 when it first came out and I immediately regretted it and hated the update. It changed so many things about my phone that I liked and didnt think needed changing.
I hate how it looks now. Among other things I miss the old battery icon, And the "now bar" on the lock screen replacing notifications of media playing and timers counting down and such should be illegal. I almost got into accidents both in the car and on foot because the now bar being so tiny and at the bottom makes it extremely difficult to access especially in a split second. I absolutely loathe the now bar. May its inventor only receive awkward silence, uncomfortable stares, and a single cough in response every time they tell a joke.

Overall I reverted as many changes as I could and am resigned to the rest, but now that I was finally forced to update my *other* s22, which I had been avoiding for as long as possible because I didn't want to lose the old interface, I want to make my opinion clearly known. From looking at other feedback it seems many felt the same way i did. These drastic changes should have been optional or reversible and I can only hope that's the case with the next update.

Lots of improvements in 8.5 including replacing the battery pill back to a number.

I was SO HAPPY when I found that 😂

I'm finding 8.5 a vast improvement.

Also please remember, although the front screen changes on 7 were not universally popular, you can customise a hell of a lot to suit your needs. One UI7 introduced a whole host of personal customisation, you just need to know how to do it.

I suppose thats true but maybe I'm just like a boomer, I'm not that tech savvy and I don't want to have to spend time looking up what to do and fiddling with my phone settings, I just liked the way it was before and wish the changes were optional 😭 😭
Also I spend a huge amount of time listening to music, almost all day every day, so changes to how media playing was displayed did affect me a lot and I couldn't figure out a decent way to fix it.
