Hi guys, i have a current issue whilst charging my S22 Ultra.

The problem only occurs when the battery is completely dead. I plug it in.. the charging circle appears, with the little electric bolt in the middle.... and it just stays like that..

i can leave the charger plugged in... so far the longest has been 15 mins.... and "eventually".... it then indicates 0% and starts charing as normal.

If my phone has any charge in it at all, anything above 0%, it will start charging automatically with no issue.... I have tried multiple chargers and leads, and it is alwasy the same outcome...

atm im afraid to let my phone die.... can this be fixed? or does it need to go in for repairs?

Many thanks!

ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED!

The issue was with Calibration, after reading the comments. i downloaded a calibration app which gave me instructions on how to correctly calibrate my phones battery.

It now charges almost instantly when its plugged in.

Thank you all!!

no worries bud glad it helped. you don't need a battery calibration app. essentially discharge the phone and then after some time try to turn it back on. it should immediately turn off. repeat until it turns on and stays on showing 0% it may stay on for a full 10 to 15 mins ish. this means its gone past the 0% and is now using up reserve power. by depleting this then charging to 100% then leave on charge for another 8 hours solid.( after 100% it stops taking power but if you leave on charge for some time it resets what it thinks is 100% and you can often go above what it thought was the max. it then automatically deletes and remakes a new battery.bin file . you could just as easily root and search for the battery.bin file in system. what this does it divide up the remaining working battery volume by 100 and it rescales it. it does not repair the battery or any of those wild claims they make. . but the short is that a phone stops charging not when its full but when the device thinks its full ( fire safety ) and turns off when it thinks its empty ( to save files)

apologies that the app i shared wasn't compatible for your device. i understand android and how it works but i haven't really used a Samsung in some time. its more my backup option. glad it got fixed for you.

I have the same phone and it does that exact thing and it has since the 1st I got it. I've had it now for 9 months and it still does it. Did you ever fix yours or did you have to send it back with warranty. Please let me know. This drives me crazy

What you said is ridiculous. Sometimes you have no choice and you might not be by a charger. My phone does this same thing and it too is a Samsung s22 ultra. Every other phone I've ever had I could let it get to 0% and die or 5%  and when I plugged it In after a few seconds the green ring would light up and charge immediately to 1% and continue fast. I should be able to let this phone get low and it charge just like the other phones. These phones cost too much to have to babysit the amount of battery.

My S22 exactly the same. Luckily I have a pad and charge to 10 % then the lead takes over.
