I have tried through settings, I have tried normally and whenever I click uninstall through the play store it doesn't uninstall but just makes it say update and open instead.

I've tried safe mode, maintenance mode and more. Nothing works.

SwiftKey is considered a system app meaning it cannot be removed. Microsoft probably paid samsung a lot of money to do that. As a normal user, go to the app info of it and press disable. The app will technically still be there but it won't update, won't run.

Technically there is a way to remove it using adb but that has a decent chance of breaking things so don't do that.

Just set some other keyboard as your default. Best that can be done without root is to hide it with adb

You can also toggle it of in keyboard list and defaults in settings.

I don't think that's it. I've had this phone for a year or two now and I've never had it. Despite multiple factory resets. Only now when I go to try the keyboard has it decided that it doesn't want to be uninstalled.

An update probably did it. Guessing one ui 7.

If the app info page for it in settings says disable, system app. If it says uninstall, then something else is going on.

Thats the app info page in settings, not the play store
