I don't use Google Chrome due to personal preference however Samsung Internet works seamlessly.
If you feel there is a bug then I'd suggest to send the feedback also via the Samsung Members App.

I opened Chrome on my S22 Ultra, split the screen and opened another app.
I searched in Chrome and had no problems.

Hi, Apparently, it is a bug in Google Chome and Google has to provide a fix.
