All my calender events (work start times, odd calender notes) have all just dissappeared? How?

I woke up one morning and all my events were deleted across all my three phones that are synced up. I looked in the recycyling bin and all my events were in there. Lucky I could select all and restore but  how did this happen?

Do you also sync with a PC/laptop? Maybe you've accidentally done something on the PC that's spilled over to your other devices.
