6.1 update ruined swipe actions

Guys! Why have they changed the swipe actions for the navigation bar? 😩 For years I have been using the swipe ups to go to the home screen, back and to recents and now you can't! I tried the new settings and can't make sense of it as there is no recent swipe and both the right and left swipe (now from the sides of the screen) seem to go back. If I have the assistant app and/or circle to search turned on, it's hard to use any of the swipes correctly.. Bad, bad update.

Google has implemented the changes to accommodate the new AI features
But as @Tourbillon De La Vie has said.
You can get the Samsung Goodlock app with the Navstar plugin
It's not something that Google is going to change back and the new gestures will be more integrated within the AI software features

A pointless change by Google, in my opinion, as I still have a circle to search even though I use swipe navigation.

But what they've replaced ot with doesn't work, or is hard to navigate.. it's honestly a step backwards. They didn't have to change it..

I agree! They made the swipe navigation to be like an iPhone- if I wanted an iPhone I'd get one. The new update is ridiculous. Even if they wanted the changes to accommodate ai, maybe they should allow users to decide if they even want the new ai options. I work with developing ai so it's not that I'm biased against it- I just would prefer the choice over some of these changes instead of having to find third party workarounds. There's no reason for the original swiping methods to go away, one thing I've always appreciated about Android is that we're able to really personalize our settings, this is very much taking a step away from that and it's disappointing.

Yep, whoever did this at Samsung should be fired immediately. It's like they didn't even bother testing it to realize how much worse it is. At least give us the options to use gestures how they used to be.
