S21 gps and wifi connection loss during screen timeout

Hi all

I've noticed that when I use google maps (whilst navigating to a location) - with the gps turned on and when the screen times out after 30 seconds the gps looses connection! I've noticed this with wifi too ... when I need connection to the phone from my pc it can't connect when the screen times out. Wifi/gps only works when the screens on! How annoying!

Is there anyway to fix this so it both these connections work when the screen times out?

@NiKRuLeZ: Can you try heading to Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 lines to the right of 'Your Apps' > Show System Apps > Google Location History > Battery > Allow Background Activity > On, to see if this helps? Regarding the Wi-Fi issue, is this only affecting your ability to connect to your PC i.e. if you try connecting to a web based app and let the screen time out, does the connection persist? Also, what connection method are you using? My instinct is that the phone's screen will need to be active in order for the handshake to complete successfully.
