@Fiz7863: Have you tried checking the Google Play Store for any updates that might address the issue? If none are available, long press on the Whatsapp app thumbnail > Tap the 'i' icon to access the Settings > Force Stop > Storage > Clear Cache to see if this helps.
Via the route mentioned by @AndrewL you could also go one step further and delete data. But that will delete your saved data.
Or when you uninstall from the phone please also go into your Playstore and MyLibrary and delete from there so your then downloading a fresh install of the App.
