Andriod Auto stopped working

I have a 2021 Honda Africa Twin (AS), and I have been using android auto for months without issue.

Since the updates Jul 20 and Aug 20 my phone no longer works with the system.

My older Galaxy S10+ which hasn't had the updates works fine with no issues, so it eliminates cable and motorcycle issues and headset, so the conclusion is something to do with the updates.

I have reinstalled Andriod Auto, upon connecting the Galaxy 21 Andriod Auto does an update. The connection drops and restarts every couple of seconds. 

Anyone had the same issue? Or a resolution to the problem?

yes I have this issue although the phone is new to me (2nd hand) since last week - seems to be a serious and known issue over many months if not years 😞
