Can anyone tell me how to change the photo resolution on the Samsung Galaxy S20+?
I simply cannot find a way to do this! When I search for this I find lots of results showing how very easy it is to do, by just going into the camera, selecting the settings and then choosing a photo resolution. The problem is, whilst that option might've been there in the past, it's not there now! I just cannot find any way to select the resolution for photos I take (and I therefore can't control much space they'll use).
The settings must have changed with a software update, but where are they now? This sort of thing should be easy!

Same exact issue here.. super angry about this, super unprofessional that it just disappeared after a SW update! Really annoying as a few weeks back the resolution options were there.. this should be fixed already!

That made me think I was mad for 2 entire days. I just bought a S20 FE and couldn't understand why this option wasn't there. Such a shame really, there is no good reason for this removal, it should be more widely spoken

This is an absolute joke. How can any phone manufacturer not have resolution options? High resolution is mostly useless for A series phones anyways since the upscaling sucks.

Yeah I switched to Samsungs camera app but since it's now useless I will be going back to open camera.
The focusing is twice as fast, lmao. I forgot how great this app is.

I solved the problem by installing a free third party camera app that has all kinds of controls - Open Camera. Also I wish Gmail would offer photo attachment resizing like the old Samsung email app did.

The f***ing fact is that with Android 11 (One UI 3.0) samsung ditched the option for choosing resolution. I've just bought Galaxy S10+ that had Android 10, One UI 2.5 and with that overlay you could bind pic ratio with pic res. for each camera both front and back in cam settings. As soon as I updated system to Android 11, One UI 3.1 that features has gone. You can just choose ratio from cam on view menu now. Want manage res need to edit photo I guess but you will change it only in terms of predefined ratios which may yield strange res values. And that's the way it is.
Considering factory reset to Android 10...
That's the rage you guys from samsung make with your "permanent" impovement and ditching basic features due to bowing to lames who can't use their device and that move of you based on data taken from every-existing surveillance of every move we do on our devices, what feats. 'we' use or don't. 'We' meaning laymans, who don't care that soon will have to going to buy some of your SD Cards due to running out of storage. Is that right? Like I need UHD res for sheet of paper pic.

I don't think you can do that after a firmware upgrade.
Try the OpenCamera app.
