I took the AKG headset out of the box, plugged them in: they worked. I see it updating in the background and after that they stopped working completely.
I tried wiping cache via boot menu and also downloaded that app 'Samsung type C', but no succes. Would appreciate help with this.

The problem was the headset itself. I had mine switched for another one bij Samsung Customer Service, the new one works like a charm.
