Before updating I've always had a choice of choosing which card I want to use for calling or sending messages, those options were always visible on screen. Now after updating for calls i get pop up windows asking for SIM while in messages I have no options at all. Does anyone using two SIM cards have the same problem?

Hi @DualSIMNote10Plus ,
The Mods are doing what we can for you guys. FYI: we don't have a direct line to C-level executives; and the Community has never been promoted as such. As I stated here: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-note10-series/lost-dual-sim-choice-in-calls-and-messages-... the change was made due to user demand, and not executive policy choice. Regardless of who we escalate/you appeal to, you'd still be facing the same need to demonstrate at least an equal user demand.
We did find out something more of why the current Dual-SIM management concept was implemented though. I asked the developers if they had been given any reasoning from users for that concept. They replied:
“With the new concept, you can store the preferred SIM for each contact.
- Call log, call log history, remembers the used SIM slot and it uses it again, so you don't have to choose. If the current preferred SIM is different from the used SIM slot in call log, the asking popup shows."
This thread has been lacking in the arguments for the current concept, but I think it's worth saying that some users will have had valid reasoning and use-cases behind not wanting to have to always choose the SIM for calling and messaging specific contacts. (For example, I can imagine a situation where someone would want to keep work contact on one SIM only and would find it very annoying to constantly have to select a SIM each and every time they used their device for calls or messages.) Many of their reasons might even be exactly the same as yours (e.g. convenience, security, or preventing accidentally sending a message to the wrong person), but the situations they’re in are different to yours and so require a different solution.
Reverting entirely to the previous concept is going to make them just as unhappy as you currently are.
We've suggested something to the developers that would hopefully work better for all, but I really can't promise anything.

The problem with this is that the 'stored' sim selection isn't fixed and randomly changes with no rhyme or reason.
The release is broken and doesn't function as intended.
I don't know a singe dual sim Samsung user who isn't experiencing this FAULT in the programming so if that's not user demand then I'd say Samsung have lost their business sense and after this device life, my business and many others, forever.

@Pqkiller , If you haven't already, and if you and anyone else experiencing it are able to, then please send error reports with software logs and a good description of the issue via the Members app as soon as you can after this happens.
The more accurate info the developers on something the better they'll be able to replicate the exact issue at their end, identify the cause, and fix it.
Edit: The developers have advised to send log files immediately after the issue occurs and screenshots before and after the problem appears so that they can compare them.

@AntS - you are just coming up with excuses and no results!!! What do you mean you do not have a direct line to C-Level Executives???! You are a Samsung employee, so it is your responsibility to use your common sense, simply email them, reach out to the respective Executive Assistants to help escalate!!! You are wasting our time and your time with excuses.....The use case you shared to justify the change is not valid and resulting SECURITY ISSUES, COST ISSUES, HORRIBLE UX and ZERO COMMON SENSE!!
This must be fixed! Please STOP the excuses!

@AntS - in addition to your excuses, now you are distracting @Pqkiller ......
all you need to do is help get this issue fixed so Android 11, UI 3.x will have two separate SIM1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and messages. Refer to Android 10, UI 2.5 if you are still confused and not understanding the very important request!!!

<span;>Dear user
<span;>I read the text you wrote, but what you are saying is not true.
<span;>In fact, Samsung's settings were such your saying before last update , that you could choose between the two SIM card to make a call at any time your liking. However, there <span;>were<span;> also an option you could select the default SIM card for all calls in the settings and you could also select the SIM card you want for each contact.
<span;>But now with the removal of these options, if I have a default SIM card and I use it for All my calls and suddenly want to make a call from the second SIM card for once, I have to select the "Ask every time" option, which is really annoying, or I have to go to the settings and choose the second SIM card there
<span;>And make my call and then again go back to the settings and select the default SIM card again, which is my first SIM card, to do the rest of the calls as usual. In fact, with its new update, Samsung has ignored dual SIM card users to use one of the two SIM card options according to their taste. In fact, it looks like we only have one SIM card, and the second SIM card option is only available to us in the settings, which seems very illogical.
<span;>Thanks

Hi
It was the worst changes on new update
16-07-2021 12:17 PM
@Bluemoon1981 - NO!!! This DOES NOT HELP!!! Please DELETE your post because you will just confuse other people here!!!
"Switching" is a NOT a solution.....it is the main issue and big problem Samsung created in UI 3.x.......We do not want to "switch" or toggle between SIM1/SIM2..... we are demanding Samsung to immediately fix this issue and bring back both SIM 1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and messages!!!

@AntS - What is the update? We have been asking you to stop with the excuses and help escalate this issue to Senior Ranking Samsung Executives. Again, reach out to the Executives Assistants to get their attention as this matter is extremely important related to SECURITY issues, COST issues, USER EXPERIENCE issues !!!!
