Hi @manwithnoplan

These are the things I would take into consideration before purchasing.

  • The actual condition of the phone.
  • How long it's been activated.
  • Battery condition.
  • How long is left from the 2 year warranty.
  • How long the phone has left for Software Updates and Security Updates.
  • I appreciate the seller is saying it's not a contract phone, but I have seen phone's work for a few weeks / months and then suddenly stop due to the phone been listed as lost or stolen and then claimed on Insurance.
  • Insist on the retail box and ensure the imei etc matches from the one in the phone to what's on the box.
  • Insist on the retail receipt.
  • I'd look at checking the phone's status on www.checkmend.com/uk/

Yes £300 does seem to be a good price but personally I'd want peace of mind buying from a shop.

If I couldn't one from Samsung or a friend or work colleague then I'd try somewhere like CEX.

Of course it's upto you what you do and on the flip side I'm sure many have bought their phone's via the same route and not been burnt,  and so I wish you all the best with this @manwithnoplan

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Dubious first post and as such I flagged it. The moderators are keeping an eye and giving benefit of doubt. If you are genuine heed @BandOfBrothers advice. Personally I wouldn't buy anything off social media though, far too risky.
