@shaggyshears. I have studied your top photo and I would suggest firstly that it could be a processing glitch?. I have had some interesting almost spooky results when experimenting with Night mode or just photographing in poorly lit areas with night mode off, but never have I ended up with an image quite like yours which shows 'glitches' that are in union with the defined edges of your subject matter?. I am healthily sceptial of things paranormal but the subject really interests me I must confess.
So there we are. In my opinion it is a fascinating little processing glitch the likes of which I have not seen before with some puzzling qualities. Can I confidently dismiss the proposal that a camera can sometimes see things that the eye cannot?. No I can't. The amount of processing that a modern phone can employ is very substantial though and sometimes this could go awry for sure. Thanks for sharing this with us all though. I like a mystery.
