Which of the Galaxy A series has the best camera performance? Please recommend.

There are so many good phone's in that category.

I would suggest to use compare sites and look at reviews on YouTube @S22ppll and there are some good tech blog sites that review phone's. 

Also disposable income may play a part.

As being an owner of the A53 5G, I can recommend that. It's a great phone and the camera, in my experience, always focuses instantly producing some amazing pictures.
As BandOfBrothers quite rightly mentions, it depends on budget of course too.
I always refer to YouTube reviews on any phone I eventually purchase.

Pixel 6a tbh stomps any A series Samsung phone
