This morning's ui8 update has left me without a phone as now the Sim is no longer detected.

after trying all the online suggestions (including multiple mobile setting resets) I tried a factory reset. However, this also downloaded ui8 , so that didn't work either.

I've just noticed the GPS reception is also non functioning.

I have raised an error report and received an acknowledgement.

I seen a few other's with the same problem.

While you wait did you try diagnostics via Samsung members app

Hi Tourbillion De La Vie (great name ;-)}

Yes the diagnostics shows the check mark tick, regardless of the presence of a sim  or not, and reports gps as working ok.  The app seems to be a pretty low (BIOS) level test .  If, as I suspect, there's debug code accidentally left in the build,  it would not likely find any problem.

Did you try and wipe phone cache partition
• Power off the device.
• a USB-C cable to a PC or another device.
• Hold  Up + Side Button until Recovery Menu appears.
• Select Wipe cache partition/ Confirm Reboot system

And change in safe mode

Hello,

I have an A54 with dual Sim capability but on use a single Sim.  I recently changed provider and when I inserted the new Sim card my phone settings show it as Sim2.  I don't see an option to change the default.  Nor do I understand if this is a potential problem or not.  Everything seems to work properly.

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Thanks

Have you put the new SIM into the second slot (i.e. at the back of the SIM tray and not in the same side that your original SIM was in)?
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Yes I tried another sim and got it into safe mode . At no point was the sim detected.

I will try the recovery mode as suggested, but I would have expected a factory reset to have flushed all data (or at least ignored it}.

Thanks for your help

OK I just tried a  'wipe cache  partition',  checked it ,then followed by another factory reset . two different Sims not detected

My head is now hurting from this and a number of other set-backs , so I may have to give this a break for now.
