The update wouldn't be the issue—being that it's not working on any device you've tried. The update physically can't touch the sd card.
Clean the SD card with a cloth and make sure it's clean of debris. Plug it into a laptop using an existing (you may need to try a new reader) and see if it shows. If not, go to Windows, search for disk management—does it show there? If not, I'm not sure there's much you can do beyond hoping there's a backup somewhere- such as samsung cloud, google cloud, one drive etc.
