Hi,

Is there any way to recover the data from a completely dead and unresponsive A53 5G phone? It froze and restarted twice, then on the third time didn’t come back on. Only 8 months old and full battery when it restarted. Samsung might be able to repair under warranty but will wipe all data first. If it’s the battery I can get that replaced but if it’s the motherboard I don’t know how easy this is for an unauthorised engineer to replace. If the motherboard has failed, can the data be extracted somehow?

If the motherboard has failed most repair shops can replace it. If it is dead data can be recovered by data recovery specialists, it's not something you can do yourself. Trouble is it'll cost about £300.

Thanks pugs, what is the most likely cause in your opinion?

Is the data stored on the motherboard or in separate storage?

Do you know of any mobile phone data recovery specialists in the UK?

Your welcome. I don't have a clue what it could be. If you hold down the power button for 20 t0 30 seconds and it doesn't respond it needs to be looked at. It may be something simple but if the motherboard board is dead the chip gets desoldered from the motherboard to connect to data recovery tools.
There are many data recovery specialists if you Google it. I haven't used one so can't make a recommendation, sorry.

If you had Google or Samsung back up set up on the device before it failed, some of the data will be backed up to the cloud that can be restored to a new replacement device.
