Hi there,
I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy A16 5G from Vijay Sales in India. After installing all my necessary applications and transferring my files to the device storage, I started facing issues with the touchscreen. Sometimes it experiences ghost touches (touches happening on their own), and sometimes when I click a button once, it registers as if I clicked twice.
Interestingly, if I lock and then unlock the screen, the issue temporarily disappears. I have recorded multiple videos of this issue using a second device as evidence.
After about a week, I visited Vijay Sales to report the problem. The seller told me it is a software issue and assured me it would be resolved through a future update. However, currently, no updates are available.
The device is running Android 14 with One UI 6.1.
I have a few questions:
If this is not a software issue, will Samsung replace my device with a new one?
I don't want my device to be opened and repaired (such as replacing the touch screen) because I just bought it. I expect a brand-new, fully healthy device, not a refurbished one.
If it is indeed a software issue, when is the next update expected to be released?
As of now, I have not received any new updates.

Has it taken any impact? The solder joints on Samsung's A series are quite weak, and the screen's flex cable is likely making poor contact with the device's motherboard.
