after updating my A14 5G to One UI 7.0, my touchcreen doesn't work at all anymore.

...maybe I should have checked the OneUI 8 rollout!...or checked the end of life for the A14..

Google "samsung galaxy A14 end of life" -  it looks like the A14 hit EOL with the Android 15/One UI 7 release - which is no great issue given that all tech must become obsolete at some point - BUT does become an issue if the last release installed on the device causes major issues. Seems that my cynicism was unfounded as Samsung only have one option -to patch the last rollout release.

Yep, they are completely denying that it is their fault. This is something worthy of an anti-trust lawsuit due to lack of following rules regarding consumer protection and device support. At least in the EU I do believe we would win that case. The issue is we need to find a lawyer willing to do it and Samsung knows they can stronghand us without giving a proper solution because they're so big and it would cost us a lot of money. This is literally a prime example of how tech monopolies have caused the enshittification of the Tech industry. They don't need to care anymore :smiling-face:

In UK (no idea where everyone is but problems also reported from Belgium and Holland) I will be submitting a letter before action and taking Samsung to the Small claims court. There appears no other option as they will not accept responsibility nor even talk about it.

I am at a loss as to why Samsung seems to be hell bent on ruining their own reputation with this group of users. For the sake of making a statement and offering a fix timeline, they seem quite content to say nothing and let the users fume. Maybe it's a volume thing and the number of A14 sales was small - and maybe if it's only a subset of those phones affected - then maybe they are weighing up the cost of providing a fix compared to lost sales.  Conjecture on conjecture - too many ifs and maybes but as frustrating as hell whatever their thoughts and motive.

He guys, I received an answer from Samsung. Read below.

Dear Mr. ,

As we agreed by phone, we have checked this internally for you.
We now have an update regarding the issue with your device.

The department is aware of this matter, and it is already being handled. A test is currently being carried out, and after confirmation we expect to be able to provide the solution through a new update. As planned, the new software update will be released at the end of this week or next week.

At the moment, no further action is required. Since this is not a hardware issue, we will not proceed with a repair. You can simply wait for the release of the new software version.

We trust that this has provided you with sufficient information.

Thanks for posting this.

I do think Samsung should contact others that have had this issue and reported it.

Hopefully this will resolve the issue (Although I've spent most of this morning setting up my new Sony phone that arrived yesterday!!!!)

This is the answer I got through Samsung members support:

Dear  customer,

Regarding the issue please check for update in the device. If no update is available please contact us again."

I'm checking if I also have an update, but I don't see any. Nor do I see any here: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-A145R/EUX/doc.html
I wonder if it'll be only for you @Satcom
And the worse, is that now the touch screen is working for 2 days. Before it stopped working randomly, sometimes for minutes.
Now I have no clue if the problem will come back, and I cannot use the warranty to get my money back.

The UK CEO's office confirmed they are working on an update and said:

'...We have received a status update in the past 24 hours from our Product Support Specialists, who are actively working on developing a software update to resolve the reported issues.

We anticipate this update will be released within the next week or so, however, a specific release date has not yet been determined....'
