retrieving photos from an galaxy a8

Can anyone help me please.  I had sentimental photos saved on an app called lockmypix.  When I went to transfer my data to a new phone the photos weren't there.  Is there anyway I can retrieve them from my actual phone as at one stage they were saved on it.  Like can I go back to a back up from 6 months ago or only my most recent back up

Your information will be held on the most recent back up as far as I'm aware @cossie12q

Do you back up to anywhere else at all ?

My preference is Dropbox.

I haven't used the app your using so can't comment.

Maybe ask the developer of the app and or look at their troubleshooting guide and faqs pages.

@bandofbrothers thank you for your reply. I dont think I've backed them up anywhere else. I've tried asking questions from the app developer but they dont seem to understand what I'm saying. I'll check other places like dropbox just incase. I'm very disappointed I've lost these photos as they are very important to me. thank you

Do look in your Samsung Cloud as they might be in there.
