The last time the A04 was supported for updates was around a year ago, so it's definitely not a new update.
Was this phone new? Second-hand? Repaired? It seems like it's time to get a replacement—a cheap budget phone, and now three years old.
Your best bet would be to back up to Smart Switch, factory reset, and then start the phone anew- unless thats what you meant by hard reset?
Before doing that, see if updating all apps in the app store/Play Store helps.
