Photos disappeared from Gallery

Hi all my photos have disappeared from my gallery my phone is the Samsung A53. I'm actually really upset they've just gone. Anyone know why this has happened and how to get them back? Thanks.

They are most likely not actually deleted, try looking at DCIM/Camera in a file manager

Have you checked if you have backed up on google photo and one drive?

Is it old because it myte have something to do with that but I don't see how it would affect it though I don't know I'm just saying it might work

It's a new phone. I just took a photo and it comes up like this in my gallery.

Hi,

Try accessing your photos in another app like Gallery from Google. If that works, then something is wrong with the Samsung Gallery app. You could then try deleting app data from Settings > Apps > Gallery > Storage > Clear data (this should not delete any photos, however, it is always good to back up the photos).
