How long have you owned the phone @Emilylouise ?
I ask as you shouldn't be having to deal with such issues if your still within any relevant cooling off period to have it swapped out.
If a network supplied the phone then check out their Terms and conditions.
If it's been supplied by Samsung then check theirs which in the UK is 28 days.
Here are some generic troubleshooting tips.
- Make sure all your apps in the Playstore and Galaxy Store are updated.
- Check in your phone's software update section to ensure it's updated.
- Use Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ will help to highlight if an app or theme etc is potentially causing issues.
- Look at trying https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to hook up to a Computer or insert your earphones to enter into recovery mode.
- As a last resort back up and factory reset.
- A Samsung Service Centre csn check the phone out or take it back to / send it back to the source you purchased the phone from.
I wish all the best.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
