Phone charges using plug with USB at home, but not with USB cable in car?

The cable works, but when plugged in to car USB it doesn't charge. It charges other devices. Any ideas? Thanks!

are you using the same cable in your testing? does the cable work at home?
try the cable upside down ( USB C cables fit upside down as well)
if you can try charging it from the cigarette lighter.
So many ways to go wrong

Upside down? Interesting, shouldn't it be the same either way? 

It's the same cable yes, works at home fine. As said it works from a plug at home but not in the car.
