Good day everyone!
I'm just filled with anger! SAMSUNG well, how so! The most banal function of any smartphone! I was a regular Apple user, the iPhone never had Always on Display before the Iphone 14 Pro. But I decided to switch to Samsung and I didn't regret it at all, and 54 is a new level! You just made a gorgeous smartphone, a gorgeous shell! BUT! THERE IS SIMPLY NO BANAL FUNCTION!!!
When the iPhone is on the table and notifications come to it, the display turns on and I see what came, a message or just who sent it to me and the message is hidden. But it all looks simple and good. On Samsung that I just haven't tried, well, not just such a function.
Or a useless icon on the AOD from which there is no sense at all for me. Or there is an opportunity to put a short message, which at first looks terrible, like on the cheapest Chinese. Secondly, it is also useless. And most importantly!!! Short messages become everywhere, and for example, if I need to enter a confirmation code, then I have to open a short message with an additional movement. And if you set detailed notifications, then on the locked screen I do not see at all what comes from whom.
And the funny thing is that if you disable AOD altogether and make detailed notifications, for example, if silent mode is enabled, you will not know that anything has come to you at all. And now this is not just a problem, but a mistake of programmers to allow a global brand to have such a problem!!!
I also want to add that the iPhone has long had the function of inserting any code from SMS. On Samsung, you can enable a similar feature in Google services, but it would be better not to have it at all. It works just disgusting, almost never inserts codes.
Samsung - please make such a simple and banal function, time-tested!!! I also wrote to the technical support service! To pass this on to the developers. You have only two steps left to trample Apple!!! Do it already!!!
There were thoughts to buy S23, but now until the simplest function appears, I won't even think about it! Waiting for an update on A54. And then I go to buy S23 as soon as I see these functions.
I really hope that you are listening to your customers! I also want to answer. Look at how many videos on YouTube about this problem that I have voiced. The people are in a panic that such a simple function that is even on the Chinese Huawei is not on the premium global brand!!!
Please support me with as many likes as possible. Let them pay attention to this!

I haven't walked with Samsung for two years and I really liked the look of the new models, I decided to try it. The firmware has become gorgeous! But I'm just shocked that there is no simple notification delivery function. Always on display, too, could have already been updated for all this time. It's been the same for 5 years now. It would be possible to make a single screen to dim when lifting it on. It already looks absolutely not premium. Let's hope Samsung has big plans for new updates!

It is illogical, because of the usual simplest function, to go buy an iPhone. This is a very banal function that should be initially on any phone. Because it is primarily convenient. I know what you suggested and I described that it is inconvenient. If you put short notifications, then without Always on display, full notifications do not work in normal smartphone use. And when a quick code from the bank arrives, it is necessary to fully disclose the message instead of seeing it completely. And this is another problem of Samsung, it does not insert codes like an iPhone. And it's not logical to advise going to buy an iPhone when Samsung can just do everything conveniently in its operating system. It's absolutely not about boredom for the iPhone, but that there is no simple ordinary function. That's all. And I like Samsung and I can't wait for them to do everything for convenience. After all, they made a bunch of functions that are absolutely not needed, but did not take into account the important functions that you use every day. You can call me an apple fan as much as you like, although this is absolutely not true, but everything is really done there for ease of use. And if, for example, 14 pro made Always on display, they really did it the way they needed to. You can boil and get mad at me as much as you want. I really hope that Samsung reads all this and draws conclusions.

Was just searching for this type of function. I have an S23 and also use an Iphone for work I was anxiously awaiting the new Android 14 release with hopes they added a simple function, like, wake the phone and display a text message, like IOS. Well, didnt happen. The only thing I can recommend is download the Verizon Messages app, which will wake the phone and give pop up. Even Google messages or the native Samsung messages app will not do this basic, function. I will probably sell my S23 because of this. Who wants to hear a ding for a new message, then have to unlock the phone, then open the notification or messaging app, just to quickly read a message. Stupid that they havent done this yet. Heck my old HTC OG phone had this function! Oh look, While writing this, a new message popped up on my Iphone and I just had to look down and read it, with no user input. Anyone want to buy an S23 Ultra.

I have been an Apple user for years. For many reasons I don't like their total control of ringtones, etc... and I feel they are bloated and so much standardized they can't be personalized. I got so tired of it. I bought the A54.
I've spent at least 30 hours in settings, help videos and downloading apps to realize there is NO easy way to glance at your incoming messages. I agree with you! My husband has the S23, and knows Sansung well. Like 15 years of loyalty and even he can't figure out how to get this simple functioning. What in the world?!?
And the comment w screenshots above isn't helpful because it still requires multiple steps to find your messages. Maybe they don't understand the simplicity they are missing in this basic cell phone function.
I'm glad I bought my phone from Amazon. It's going back. I raise my white flag. Like is too short for this frustration.
I was so pleased with Samsung until I realized how cumbersome retrieving texts and vm was.
