after updating my A14 5G to One UI 7.0, my touchcreen doesn't work at all anymore.

How to fix this?

I have been having problems about once a day, when the phone is in lock screen mode. I can't swipe and get the black screen.

I gather factory resets don't work.

Is there anything that does work. Have just missed a phone call because I couldn't swipe to accept it. Awkward with etickets on trains as well.

Phone is still under guarantee and I wonder about trying to get a replacement phone, if there is no easy fix.

(Just wish I could go back in time and not have the update.

No I don't agree. Mine worked perfectly fine before the update - budget or not! I don't need an expensive phone, just one that works which this did ....

It's a known issue for that model version been plenty posts posted on here over the last week regarding screen freezing and blackscreen requiring you to reboot your device all the time.

from my previous post - repeated here:

The EMail contact for the UK CEO of Samsung gets rejected by the posting filter here. So go here https://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9203

...and also mail the BBC at

...it's a consumer programme on Radio 4.

This issue has occurred since the last UI 6.1 update, my unit is an A34 5G variant and ever since the update I've tried everything from resetting the cache partitions on the recovery mode, reset my phone but to no avail. I've researched about this issue and found out that this only happened on phones that have aftermarket screens and that the best option is either to replace the screen (which worked on one user) or to downgrade my phone—but there is the risk of bricking my phone.

A technician told me however that it is best to wait for the next update if I don't want to get pricey on having to use my Samsung again. So I waited. Unfortunately, after the UI 7.0 update nothing changed I still cannot use the touch feature. Btw, I also tried updating the touch firmware (the TSP thing) and have found out that the phone does not recognize the touch firmware of my screen for some reason(either it was deleted in the update or the update it self don't recognize it anymore as it says N/A where it shouldn't be).

Anyways I brought it over to a technician and I was once again faced with the same two options. Now, do I really have to replace the screen or once again, wait for the next update hoping for the issue to be fixed? Or is there any other way to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for any replies or insights.

Same here! It might be less expensive than some - but its a lot of money to me! And it worked fine until this 'upgrade'.

Hi,

In our situation this solved the issue.

No issues with the touch for more than a day of operation.
