I have s24 and running out of space, had the a54 and was going to go back to the a series but now looks like I also need another manufacturer.

Trying to push people into cloud storage costs. Shame.

I will get my own  cloud nas before I pay for someone else to have my data.

You'll find all manufacturers are moving away from Micro SD Cards and moving to the cloud, not just Samsung.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Techs moving on, get with it. You can also buy an external SSD if you really dislike the cloud; SD cards are outdated. All brands will be ditching it

Hi @Members_xHyaDl8

Most manufacturers are moving away from the SD card.

I can see the appealing of the SD cards. If the phone goes dead the data could still be preserved on the SD card. Sony Xperias are some of the few bastions of the SD card.

Saying that, external storage will work quite well with the phones. You will have the added inconvenience to plugin the drive, but it will work. I use a Samsung T7 1TB and it is very fast. Copying data to and from the phone is a breeze.
