I've put a new sim in my phone and it's not registering. It's been a few hours and still nothing. Any ideas why this is happening? Maybe a dodgy sim? 🤔

Hi there, is there showing no service or other sign?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

Sorry to hear of your issues.

As mentioned above, is the SIM showing no service or something else?

It will likely either be:

1. SIM card not provisioned by your network
2. SIM card not inserted correctly
3. Device blacklisted

If it shows no service it might be your device is blacklisted like reported lost/stolen or sim inserted wrongly. Did you tried sim slot 2?

I've owned this phone since December last year so wouldn't be blacklisted. I've had the same sim in since I owned the phone and no problems. I put in a new sim today and no service.

I haven't tried slot 2 as my sd card is in that one does it matter whether its in sim 1 or 2? I'll change it over and see if it makes a difference.

@Anonymous User can you test the sim card in another phone as a process of elimination 🤔

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Yes try sim slot 2 as usually when phone gets blacklisted they blacklisted imei 1 whitch is sim slot 1 if you insert in second one usually it works at least it used to. I suggest try sim slot 2 i believe it might be blacklisted since you said you tried 2 sim and still no service

Also where did you bought phone from? If it's not from hight street markets or directly from Samsung like Facebook marketplace etc it might be like phone could be blacklisted as it's common scam when you buy phones from people online could be due to person took on contract sold it to you stoped paying bills then got blacklisted by network or most common the "insurance scam"

I'll try sim 2, and I've got my kids phones I could try this sim in and see if I have the same issue.

I bought the phone from Argos last December and been okay until I changed to a new sim this afternoon.

If from Argos it won't have been blacklisted unless it was by mistake in relation to another customer with another device (it can happen but it is extremely rare).
