Latest updates have messed some things up

Just updated my Samsung A54-5G. Now the fingerprint recognition doesn't work when the phone's been idle for a while. Sometimes, it doesn't work at all regardless of what the phone is doing. Also, the option to have different clock faces on the 'always on display', has been removed. I happened to prefer the traditional face, now I can't have it. Why? This, and the fact my phone doesn't know my thumb print anymore, isn't annoying what so ever. I've ran all diagnostics, sensors and whatever else I can think of, with no joy.

Regarding AOD. Install the Good Lock app from the Galaxy store and install the Lock Star module. You can customise both the lockscreen and AOD to your preference. I'm not sure about your fingerprint recognition, as I don't use it. You could try removing your biometrics and start again from scratch.

@ptech as well as @Robin999 excellent suggestions 😊 you could also try this. 

• Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

Thanks for your help. I'll try both yours and Robin999's suggestions as soon as I can, and I'll post back on the progress. It will be a while though, 'cause I'm on a long shift at work : )

since the update my phone lags while opening or using apps and the storage is not full .So i recently factory reset the device to see if it will help the phone worked well and smoothly till i updated it a few hours later apps started to hung and the first error it showed me is system processor error . the apps mostly affected are ticktock snapchat call of duty mobile .what might be the problem
