Latest update caused an issue with my Galaxy A14

Shortly after this latest update which I actioned 24/08/25 I was unable to swipe up and access the phone number pad and therefore I was unable to access my phone. Eventually after many times of going in and out of my phone via the side button I was able to swipe up, access the number pad, input the pin code and I accessed my phone. Aside from the lock screen appearing to freeze up when trying to swipe up, the phone is ok. I telephoned customer services on 26/08/25 and I was hung up on before I even had chance to speak. I redialled and this time I got through to an advisor. He accessed my phone remotely, checked a few things but did nothing to resolve the issue, his advice was to give it 48 hours and call back if no improvement. It was still giving me this problem 10 minutes after the call. I phoned customer services again 28/08/25 and spoke to a woman and I had to keep repeating myself over and over since she was not understanding my simple explanation of the issue at hand. Then once she did understand she advised she'd call me back in an hour. I asked why could we not continue with the phone conversation and hopefully reach a resolution since it's apparent that the update is what has caused this particular issue. Again she repeated that she'd call me back in an hour and proceeded to hang up on me at 11:10 am with no explanation as to why I had to wait for another hour for a call back. It is now 29/08/25 and 16:10 and I still have not received a call back from Samsung, 17 hours later. This is unacceptable customer service and I have now been left with a phone which is completely frustrating me, especially when I need fast access to it and it's taking multiple attempts for the swipe up to actually work. I will probably have to buy a new phone now when this one was working perfectly well before this latest update. I will never by Samsung products ever again and when I purchase the next TV I will not be purchasing another Samsung one either. Samsung,you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I will not be wasting my time in phoning them again. They're either incompetent or don't give a *****, what other conclusion am I suppose to draw from this. It appears other customers have received a similar level of poor customer service from Samsung. Buyer beware!

Check diagnostics via Samsung members app

Wipe phone cache partition
• Power off the device.
• a USB-C cable to a PC or another device.
• Hold Volume Up + Side Button until Recovery Menu appears.
• Select Wipe cache partition/ Confirm Reboot system.


Does it happen in safe mode

Thanks, but I don't know how to do this. I saw this advice yesterday on someone else's issue. I tried to identify how to do this and was at a loss as to how.

I tried all that twice,no use. I also rand Customer Service, I also got a lady who didn't understand me and I didn't understand her ! 30 mins later I was no further resolving the problem. Shd wanted to take me phone over for 2hrs to check it. That wasn't feasible, 6 hrs later I am no further forward being able yo keep getting into my phone???

Thanks Star_girl but I will persevere with this phone for as long as I can, then buy a new one. I'm not going to waste anymore of my time on it. I noticed that a word I used has been stared out which just serves to make it look worse than the word I actually used. I don't tend to use expletives and yet this is how it's been portrayed by this forum upon posting my issue. For the record I will spell the word I used phonetically, it was Delta,, Alpha, Mike, November. Not bad enough to be starred out in my opinion.

I wish you all the best with it, perhaps you'll have more luck than I did. It's diabolical when we have to consider whether luck plays any part in a resolution from a Global companies customer service.

I meant to look on YouTube on how to clear the cache partition. You can find plenty of videos there. I did not suggested you to buy a new phone and TurbillionDelaVie suggested you how to fix your phone, he didn't tell you to buy a new one.

Sorry you are feeling offended about the starring of your word, Samsung forum rules are very strict about using sweare words as there are people if all ages coming here and no form of swearing and foul talking is ok.

I switched mine off and on again and I could swipe up, but it's not long before it freezes up again. Try it, it might work for you. I'm having to do this more and more at the moment. Not a fix but it's the only way that I can get the swipe up to work.
