Hi,

I recently started a business but am finding increasingly details of my activity are making it to rivals with a grudge against me.

Emails in my mail app, notes in my Samsung Notes app, general phone activity etc leak out but only I ever have physical access to the phone.

To be sure I started threading pieces of information and details into what I was writing to see and sure enough would catch them being shared around.

How could this be done and what can I do to stop it? Because surely the only way would be fairly illegal data breaches or hacking.

Personally I'd factory reset the phone
Then I get on a computer to reset all my passwords
Set up two factor authorisation
Obviously use strong passwords
Probably setup the phone from cloud backup
You can go into you Google account and sign out of devices and the same with your Samsung account

In terms os business- rivals accessing data is extremely illegal (suppose even if not in a business) I would report it to correct authorities. Other than than, back up data, factory restart phone and change passwords for your accounts. Normally its never some hack and someone's managed to steal your login details.

@KanoUK. Good advice given by the others.

For the future to give yourself the best possible protection ensure software / security patches and aps are kept up to date, be careful of links in texts/emails as some of these may be malicious. It is advantagous to have two factor authentification enabled for both your Samsung and Google Accounts https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/apps-services/what-is-two-step-verification/ https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/ as well as sites which offer it. It is advisable to clear internet history and cache periodically.

Protection is also increased if you do not download apps outside of the official stores, though there are some reputable APK sites. Best also to be careful of public wifi unless using a VPN. https://www.kaspersky.com/resource-center/preemptive-safety/public-wifi-risks https://surfshark.com/blog

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
